“Doing your best is more important than being your best.”
– Shannon Miller
Since 2008, I have realized that my lifelong aspiration is to be a storyteller who values kindness and fairness. During the early years of my career, I was actively involved with AIESEC, an international student organization, for almost 5 years, from being a volunteer to working as a full-time paid employee. Needless to say, it was a challenging but fulfilling journey where I grew not only as a professional but also as an individual with good values.
After “graduating” from AIESEC, I ventured into advertising agency settings where I tackled various business growth milestones such as expansion, M&A, company culture shifts, leadership board changes, and layoffs. During my tenure there, my primary focus was content strategy for a wide range of projects based on revenue streams, which included branding, IMC communication campaigns, and digital product development. As my former agency was a medium-sized company, I had the opportunity to engage in other operational works to build smooth processes, team spirit, and customer satisfaction.
My journey with the advertising agency lasted for 4 years, after which I took a 2-year break to recharge my energy and knowledge. In my most recent position, I worked as a UX Writer on a digital product in-house team that developed B2B SaaS applications. My primary responsibility was to ensure the delivery of the best possible user experience while also contributing to our overall business objectives. I relish the opportunity to collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to achieve our shared goals. Working on the internal side of things has given me a more holistic perspective compared to working for a consultancy agency.
In addition to my years of experience in marketing communication, I would like to share my understanding of the non-profit sector gained through my participation in the “Impact Accelerator” program by LIN Center in 2021. This 1-year program provided me with practical knowledge and experience in fundraising, government policy, organizational development, and community/impact communication. I also joined “Lagom Path”, a social enterprise in its early stages focused on career consultancy. These opportunities have equipped me with the tools to create more social impact in my personal and professional life.
